Age UK - A Force for Later Life
23.04.2010
From Monday 19 April 2010 Age Concern Wiltshire has changed its name to become “Age UK Wiltshire”.
Members were asked to approve the change of name at an Extraordinary General Meeting in Devizes on Wednesday 14th April 2010. The name change will enable the local organisation to become a Brand Partner working with the new national charity Age UK, formed from the merger last year of national charities Age Concern England and Help the Aged. Whilst Age UK Wiltshire will remain an independent charity, as Age UK Wiltshire it will be part of the national force for later life, working together with Age UK to deliver help, advice and services for local older people.
Mike Weston, Chair of Age Concern Wiltshire says “The merger of the national charities is a great opportunity to combine the strengths of the two organisations whilst honoring the heritage of Age Concern. We want to combine all our experience and skills and work together to make a real difference to as many people in later life as possible”
